Hernando County Crime Stoppers was established in 2005. This community-based non-profit program is designed to bring citizens, law enforcement and the media closer together in an effort to combat crime and make the community a safer place to live. Hernando County Crime Stoppers acts as a clearinghouse for information and encourages people who know about crimes or about people who have committed crimes to call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line. We motivate citizens to provide information on felony crimes by offering financial rewards and guaranteeing anonymity. The caller remains anonymous. There is no caller ID. No one will ever know who you are. 

You MUST provide the information directly to Crime Stoppers to be eligible for a reward. Contacting law enforcement first will disqualify you from receiving a cash reward.

• IF YOUR TIP LEADS TO AN ARREST, YOU COULD RECEIVE UP TO $5000. TIPSTERS MUST CONTACT CRIME STOPPERS FIRST TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR A REWARD. TIPS SUBMITTED DIRECTLY TO A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY WILL DISQUALIFY A REWARD.
• REMEMBER, ALL TIPS ARE IMPORTANT. DUE TO INVESTIGATIVE PROCEDURES, SOME TIPS MAY TAKE SEVERAL WEEKS OR MONTHS TO RESULT IN AN ARREST. ELIGIBLE REWARDS ARE PAID AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE CASE.
